NCERT launches new Class 8 Social Science book following controversy over judiciary chapter

NCERT has brought out a fresh Class 8 Social Science textbook, months after a controversy broke out regarding a chapter on the judiciary. The disputed material about the judiciary has been deleted from the chapter. The book mentions that the chapter on the judiciary was "rewritten" by an expert panel set up by the Union Ministry of Education following instructions from the Supreme Court.
