Nauru, the world's third-smallest nation, adopts a new name
President David Adeang has declared that Nauru, the third-smallest country in the world by population, has officially rebranded as the Republic of Naoero. Describing the move as the beginning of a new era of national pride, the President noted that the nation's international code will shift from NRU to NRO. Additionally, the people of the country will now be referred to as dei-Naoero rather than Nauruans. The nation currently has a population of approximately 12,500.
