Natural diamond prices drop by nearly 50% in four and a half years

Natural diamond values have experienced a significant drop over the last four and a half years. According to figures from the IDEX Diamond Index, prices have plummeted by almost half since March 2022. The index sat at 158.16 on March 5, 2022, but has since tumbled 48% to reach 82.13. This downward trend in pricing is largely attributed to the growing preference for lab-grown diamonds.
