Nashik's Divya Mahajan sets record as youngest female to cross North Channel
Divya Mahajan, a 16-year-old open-water swimmer hailing from Nashik, has achieved the title of the youngest woman to successfully swim the North Channel, which lies between Scotland and Northern Ireland. She completed the stretch of nearly 40 kilometres in 15 hours and 50 minutes, maintaining a continuous swim despite frigid water temperatures ranging from 12°C to 15°C. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis lauded Mahajan, describing her feat as truly impressive.
