NASA sends Nancy Grace Roman telescope into space to hunt for exoplanets
A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket has successfully carried NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope into orbit from Florida. The infrared observatory is currently traveling toward the L2 Lagrange point, where it will perform extensive space surveys. Its primary goals include investigating dark energy and dark matter, as well as looking for planets outside our solar system. The mission is scheduled to provide its initial set of images by the beginning of 2027.
