NASA launches ₹38,150-crore Roman Space Telescope to hunt for 1 lakh planets
On Sunday, NASA successfully launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope from Florida using a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. This observatory, which cost $4 billion (approximately ₹38,150 crore), is designed to investigate dark matter, dark energy, and exoplanets. The agency anticipates that the telescope will identify roughly one lakh planets outside our solar system. The Roman telescope features a field of view that is at least 100 times wider than that of the Hubble Space Telescope.
