NASA veteran Don Pettit has released a photograph of the Milky Way that he took while serving on his most recent mission at the International Space Station (ISS). This image, which captures the galaxy stretching over the Earth's illuminated edge, is one of approximately 1.2 million raw pictures he snapped throughout his 208-day stay. The shot was captured from the Cupola, the station's well-known observation deck featuring seven windows.
