NALSAR student body labels NLSIU convocation cancellation as 'cruel'
The Student Bar Council at NALSAR University of Law has slammed the choice made by NLSIU Bengaluru to scrap its 2026 convocation, describing the move as "cruel." The ceremony was called off by NLSIU following demonstrations regarding the planned attendance of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Bar Council of India (BCI) Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra. According to NALSAR, students had been pressured to issue a public "re-invitation" to the CJI prior to the event being cancelled.
