Nagoya hit by record rainfall; 400 Asian Games participants moved

Approximately 400 athletes and support staff had to be relocated from their Nagoya lodgings after heavy downpours caused flooding in the Asian Games host city. On Tuesday, the area saw 104 mm of rain in just one hour, which resulted in water seeping into several event venues. Nagoya Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa confirmed that the Asian Games will continue as planned, starting September 19.
