Multilingualism could help maintain a younger brain, study finds
Research shared at the 2026 Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) Forum indicates that individuals who are multilingual might possess brains that appear more youthful than their chronological age. The findings suggest that regular use of several languages may serve as a shield against cognitive decline associated with aging. Acquiring additional languages beyond one's native tongue could be a way to preserve brain health for a longer period.
