The Khumbu Glacier, located at the base of Mount Everest, is shedding 30 lakh kilograms of snow and ice every spring. This is largely attributed to the thousands of mountaineers who camp there for months during their expeditions. A recent study reveals that climbers release about 6,000 litres of urine at the site every day, which has resulted in the melting of approximately 154 tonnes of glacial ice.
