Mossad allegedly attempted to turn former Iranian leader Ahmadinejad into an asset
According to a New York Times report, Israel's intelligence service, Mossad, spent years attempting to cultivate former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a secret informant and help him secure power in Iran. The report states that he was asked to travel to Budapest in 2024 for a meeting with a former Mossad chief. Israel allegedly provided various payments to his inner circle, and Mossad agents reportedly moved him to a hidden safe house while US and Israeli military strikes were underway.
