Minister Puri addresses lack of consumer choice in ethanol-blended petrol
In a recent interview, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri clarified why Indian consumers do not have the option to pick between regular petrol and ethanol-blended fuel. Questioning the demand for such an alternative, he remarked, "Why would anybody be asking for a choice which is inferior?" Citing Brazil as a model, he noted that the country has moved from E27 to E32. He emphasized that the objective is not to revert to zero blending.
