Microsoft sees $3.2 billion profit from Anthropic stake
In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, Microsoft recorded a $3.2 billion boost from its financial backing of the AI company Anthropic. This follows a $5 billion investment Microsoft made in Anthropic back in November 2025, an agreement that also included a $30 billion commitment from the AI startup to use Azure cloud services. During the same quarter, Microsoft also adjusted the value of its OpenAI holdings downward by approximately $600 million.
