Meta settles teen addiction lawsuit for ₹1.7 lakh crore
Meta has reached an $18 billion (exceeding ₹1.7 lakh crore) settlement to resolve a legal battle with US states, which alleged that its social media platforms were built to create addiction among teenagers. As part of the agreement, the company will limit daily usage of Instagram and Facebook for minors to two hours and mandate parental approval for access during the hours of midnight to 6 am. California is set to receive the largest share of the settlement, totaling $2.2 billion.
