Meta eyes cloud services to rent out spare AI computing power
According to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, Meta is looking into building a cloud infrastructure arm to lease out its surplus AI processing power. This move would position Meta to compete with established cloud giants such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services. A similar strategy was recently adopted by SpaceX, which reached an agreement to provide AI compute capacity at its Colossus 1 facility to Anthropic.
