Meghalaya faces 57% rainfall shortage this monsoon season

Despite being famous for hosting some of the wettest regions globally, Meghalaya is witnessing a surprisingly dry monsoon period. Data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicates that the state saw a 57% shortfall in rain from June 4 to July 28. During this timeframe, it received only 272.9 mm of precipitation, significantly lower than the typical average of 632.1 mm.
