Yash Vir Singh, a native of Devsar village in Haryana, has been named as the replacement for the injured Neeraj Chopra in India's men's javelin team for the 2026 Asian Games. The son of a former national-level javelin thrower, Singh previously secured gold medals at the Under-18 nationals in both 2017 and 2018. He also claimed the men's javelin title at the 2025 Indian Open Athletics. Most recently, he earned a bronze medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where he achieved a personal-best throw of 85.41 meters.
