Ankush Panghal, who secured a silver medal in the men's 80 kg boxing category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games (CWG), is the son of Manoj Kumar, a former state-level kabaddi player. The 20-year-old athlete started his boxing journey at the age of 11, training under coach Pradeep Sawant in Hisar. By 14, he had already claimed a national school championship title. Following this, he received a Khelo India stipend and went on to win several medals across both junior and senior level competitions.
