Meenakshi Thapa, actress in Kareena's 'Heroine', murdered by two co-stars
Meenakshi Thapa, a 26-year-old aspiring actress, became acquainted with junior artistes Amit Jaiswal and Preeti Surin while working on the set of the film 'Heroine', which starred Kareena Kapoor. The pair assumed Thapa came from a rich family and deceived her in 2012 by promising her a role in a Bhojpuri movie in Allahabad. Once there, they kidnapped her to demand a ransom, eventually murdering her and disposing of her body in a septic tank. In 2018, the duo was handed a life sentence by a court.
