MEA update: Status of Indian citizens caught in Nepal-Tibet floods
The Ministry of External Affairs reported that 288 Indian citizens are currently unreachable in Nepal following flash floods close to the border with Tibet. Meanwhile, a group of 21 individuals from Tamil Nadu has been successfully rescued. Additionally, approximately 200 Indians have requested to be evacuated from the Chinese side of the border. The majority of those impacted are tourists or pilgrims traveling to Kailash Mansarovar. India has dispatched 47.5 tonnes of aid to Nepal, as the confirmed death toll from the disaster has climbed to 270.
