Maternity leave is a constitutional right, not a favor: J&K High Court

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has declared that maternity leave is a fundamental constitutional right rooted in women's dignity, rather than a form of government charity. The court issued this ruling while addressing a plea from doctors working at state-run medical colleges, who had challenged an official order that halted their salary payments while they were on maternity leave.
