Massive 14,500-km warm water wave moves across the Pacific

According to reports, NASA's Sentinel-6 satellite is monitoring a giant wave of warm water measuring nearly 14,500 km as it travels across the Pacific Ocean. As this warm water moved through, the surface of the ocean rose by approximately 15 centimetres. This slow-moving underwater surge, which stretches hundreds of kilometres in width and covers a large portion of the Pacific, is identified as a Kelvin wave.
