Ex-Indian spinner Maninder Singh revealed that he had anticipated ten years back that Shreyas Iyer would eventually captain the national team in every format. He remarked, "He appeared to be a unique talent... It didn't pan out that way, but that is perfectly fine. He has still managed to become India's T20I captain." It is worth noting that Shreyas recently captained India to a 3-0 sweep in the T20I series against Zimbabwe.
