Man jailed for tricking tourists with fake Roman amphitheatre

An Italian fraudster has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison for convincing both locals and tourists that he had unearthed an ancient Roman amphitheatre. Franco Malosso von Rosenfranz collected €40 (approximately ₹4,400) from visitors to listen to made-up historical tales. Authorities eventually used satellite photos to prove the site was actually built recently. In addition to his prison term, he was ordered to pay a €3,000 fine and faces further legal damages.
