Maharashtra to use anti-terror law against gutka makers
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has decided to apply the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved in gutka production. This legislation is typically reserved for tackling terrorism. FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe noted that gutka has been banned in the state since 2004.
