Maharashtra introduces Bharat Taxi service at Navi Mumbai airport
The Maharashtra government has rolled out Bharat Taxi at the Navi Mumbai International Airport, offering a cooperative-based option to compete with private ride-hailing apps. This commission-free model lets drivers hold shares in the service, removes surge pricing, and does away with hidden fees. The initiative is launching with a fleet of 600 vehicles. Authorities intend to scale the platform throughout the state, with the goal of generating thousands of jobs.
