Maharashtra FDA mandates prior approval for large public feasts and weddings

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has introduced a new rule requiring organizers to secure official approval before holding large-scale communal meals, such as weddings, iftar gatherings, bhandaras, langars, and mahaprasad. Organizers are now required to submit an application detailing the event, the caterer, the food menu, and where ingredients are sourced at least seven days before the function. Furthermore, only licensed cooks and caterers will be allowed to prepare or distribute food at these gatherings.
