According to a report in the Journal of Geophysical Research, methane emissions from spacecraft during lunar landings might disperse and taint historical evidence on the moon that could explain the origins of life on Earth. The study further noted that certain permanently shadowed craters on the moon may hold ice containing ancient materials from comets and asteroids dating back billions of years.
