Losing 80 minutes of sleep daily could cause weight gain, study suggests
A study from Columbia University indicates that individuals who reduced their nightly sleep by roughly 80 minutes over a six-week period saw an average weight increase of about 453 grams. One researcher noted that the findings suggest sufficient sleep might play a role in lowering the risk of gaining weight. The research tracked 95 adults who typically get 7 to 8 hours of rest and asked them to push back their regular sleep times.
