London startup founder hacked after Claude provides malicious app link

Numa, the co-founder of the London startup ReFi Hub, reported that he fell victim to a hack while attempting to use Claude to download a transcription tool. The AI chatbot gave him a link that directed him to a fraudulent website hosting malware. The software executed immediately and, according to Numa, attempted to steal all of his data. After wiping his laptop clean, he discovered a harmful file hidden in his backup, which would have triggered a re-infection had he restored his system from that point.
