Ladakh to host India's inaugural high-altitude wildlife safari
India is launching its first-ever high-altitude wildlife safari in Ladakh. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has instructed the Forest Department to organize safari routes focused on snow leopard sightings and bird-watching in these elevated regions. As part of the initiative, local youth will receive training to serve as guides and will be provided with binoculars. This project aims to curb unauthorized off-roading and wildlife disturbances while promoting sustainable, eco-friendly tourism.
