Ladakh groups present essential demands to MHA, seek Legislative Assembly
Ahead of an official meeting scheduled for September, delegates from two civil society organizations in Ladakh—the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance—handed over a list of essential demands to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The demands include the creation of a directly elected Legislative Assembly equipped with financial authority. The meeting was also attended by activist Sonam Wangchuk and Ladakh Member of Parliament Mohmad Haneefa Jan.
