Kiren Rijiju addresses Rahul Gandhi's query on Women's Quota and delimitation
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has replied to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism regarding why the government is linking the Women’s Reservation Act, 2023 to the delimitation process. Rijiju explained that to ensure the women's quota is effective for the 2029 elections, the delimitation exercise must be carried out using the most recent Census data. He further noted that waiting until the 2027 Census would only result in further delays for the implementation of the reservation.
