Key highlights of the ₹5,640 crore Andhra airport launched by PM Modi
The Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, located in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, is a greenfield project spanning 2,203 acres with an investment exceeding ₹5,640 crore. Designed with a flying fish-inspired terminal, the facility is equipped to serve 6 million travelers every year and includes a 3,800-metre Code-E runway. The airport also incorporates eco-friendly elements such as a 5 MW solar energy plant, systems for rainwater harvesting, and energy-saving HVAC technology.
