Karnataka teachers to use 'Tr' prefix, similar to 'Dr' for doctors
On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar announced that teachers in the state are now permitted to use 'Tr' as a prefix before their names, mirroring the use of 'Dr' for doctors and 'Prof' for professors. Describing the title, he stated, "It may be only two letters, but it represents a lifetime of service." He further remarked, "'Tr' is more than a title...it's an honour you have truly earned."
