Karnataka teachers forced to fund student egg program

Educators in the Hosanagar taluk of Karnataka are reportedly using their personal funds to ensure students receive eggs as part of a state-run nutrition initiative. While the government has set the cost per egg at ₹6, the actual market price is higher, leaving teachers to pay the remaining balance. This program currently supports 13,775 pupils across 264 different schools in the region.
