Karnataka plans total ban on junk food near schools and hospitals

Karnataka's Health and Family Welfare Minister, UT Khader, announced that the state government is looking into a total prohibition of junk food in the vicinity of hospitals and schools. He stated that a pilot program will be launched at the District Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. Khader noted that this initiative is intended to act as a template for both private and government-run hospitals.
