Karnataka mandates fare meters for all cabs to stop overcharging

The Karnataka Transport Department has ordered all taxi services, including Ola, Uber, and Rapido, to use government-approved fare meters. This decision follows an increase in passenger complaints regarding excessive charges. Additionally, the department has directed regional transport offices (RTOs) to deny the renewal of fitness certificates for any cabs that do not have these meters installed.
