‘Kanda Express’ reaches Delhi; onions to retail at ₹35/kg
On Friday, the 'Kanda Express' pulled into Delhi's Adarsh Nagar Railway Station, carrying a fresh supply of onions from Maharashtra that will be available for ₹35 per kg. The central government introduced this special train to offer onions at a lower, subsidised price following a sharp rise in costs, which had climbed to ₹55-60 per kg in various cities. The Delhi administration has committed to covering the expenses for transporting the onions.
