In June, Indian Railways recorded a freight loading of 142.21 million tonnes, marking a 4% increase compared to the same month last year. Revenue from freight operations also saw a 3% rise. The growth was primarily driven by higher volumes of coal, iron ore, clinker, and fertilisers, bringing the total freight for the first quarter to over 419 million tonnes. Additionally, passenger numbers climbed to 63.81 crore, supported by the expansion of Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat train services.
