Judge who faced transfer after 22 death sentences hands down another capital punishment
A judge in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Ravi Kumar Diwakar, has issued another death sentence. This follows the transfer of 100 murder cases from his court after he previously handed down 22 death penalties within a four-month span. In this latest ruling, 38-year-old Nadeem was sentenced to death for burning his 23-year-old wife, Shahzadi, to death in 2018. Judge Diwakar described the murder as "extremely brutal and barbaric," placing the crime in the "rarest of rare" category.
