J&K Police use facial recognition to nab 3 OGWs during Amarnath Yatra
In a first, the Jammu and Kashmir Police utilized a facial recognition system (FRS) to spot and detain three suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in the Sarbal region of Anantnag. The technology, deployed to bolster security throughout the Amarnath Yatra, triggered live alerts regarding the suspects' activities. OGWs are known to assist militant or terrorist groups with logistics and other forms of support.
