Jellyfish swarm triggers shutdown of three reactors at major French nuclear site
Three reactors at France's biggest nuclear facility were taken offline following a massive influx of jellyfish that blocked the cooling system pumps. The fourth reactor saw its power generation reduced by 50 percent, meaning only one unit remained running at total capacity. A similar incident occurred last year, forcing the plant to temporarily suspend operations when jellyfish obstructed its seawater intake stations.
