Japan potentially used $59 billion to bolster yen after record drop
Data from the central bank released on Friday suggests that Japan might have utilized as much as $58.97 billion to prop up the yen. This intervention was triggered by the currency falling to a level not seen in 40 years, sparking worries regarding the rising prices of energy and imports. This action represents the first time in three months that Japan has stepped in to buy yen and sell dollars.
