According to the police, Hamim Mondal, a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist apprehended by the West Bengal Police, received instructions from his handlers in Pakistan to infiltrate a student demonstration at Jantar Mantar while wearing a police uniform to incite chaos. Authorities also allege that his girlfriend, Arpita Sarkar, used honey-trapping tactics against prominent figures, such as politicians, to gather sensitive information and relay it to Hamim.
