Jaffer believes Rahane possessed the potential for 20+ Test centuries
Following Ajinkya Rahane's decision to retire from every format of the game, former Indian player Wasim Jaffer remarked, "I consistently believed he was capable of achieving greater heights." Jaffer further noted, "Given the volume of Test matches he participated in, he might have comfortably reached 6,500 or 7,000 runs. I personally think he had the talent to conclude his career with upwards of 20 Test hundreds."
