Israel blocks 12 UK citizens and closes British consulate following sanctions
Israel has responded to Western sanctions—spearheaded by the UK—targeting West Bank settlements by barring 12 British citizens, among them Jeremy Corbyn, from entering the country. Additionally, the British consulate located in East Jerusalem has been closed. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar claimed that Britain is meddling in Israeli electoral processes. A group of 12 nations, such as the UK, France, and Canada, recently imposed trade restrictions on Israeli settlements due to an increase in violence by settlers.
