IRS official journeys 600 km to assist Telangana villages with rainwater harvesting
Sudhakar Naik, an IRS officer, made the 600-km trip from Mumbai to Narayankhed, Telangana, to support drought-affected areas in conserving rainwater. Over the course of seven weekends, he worked alongside environmentalist Paladugu Gnaneshwar and local residents to construct two community soak pits, along with stone bunds and farm ponds built from regional materials. These installations helped facilitate groundwater percolation, effectively recharging the local water table.
