IRCTC fines vendor ₹1 lakh after expired bread served on Shatabdi Express

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has penalized a catering contractor with a ₹1 lakh fine for providing expired bread to travelers aboard the New Delhi-Rani Kamalapati (Bhopal) Shatabdi Express. Following the incident, the IRCTC has dismissed the catering manager and other involved personnel from their duties immediately. It is reported that approximately 74 passengers, among them several children, had already eaten the bread before discovering that it was past its expiration date.
